The next day at class, I was practically speed-walking through the hallway.
“Row... will you slow down?” Cindy huffed behind me, trying to keep up. “I didn’t ask you to like two guys, okay?”
I didn’t answer. My heart was already thudding in my chest, and it had nothing to do with the pace. My fingers were cold. I was trying not to imagine what would happen when I saw Adrian.
Then I stopped—abruptly. Right at the classroom entrance.
“s**t!” Cindy yelped as she bumped into my back. “Why the hell are you blocking the way like a damn traffic cone....!”
Her voice cut off when she looked at my face.
I didn’t say anything. I didn’t have to.
