Jason leaned in, his smirk sharp enough to cut, his eyes glinting with that cocky vampire charm.
“If you don’t find any clue, little human, you’re sleeping with me.”
“You’re f*****g insane,” I snapped, jerking my face away, my cheeks burning with anger and something else I didn’t want to name.
“Maybe,” he said, shrugging, his lips twitching in that annoying way he did when he was bluffing, like this was all a game to him.
I stepped forward, closing the gap, glaring up at him, my fists clenched.
“And if I do find something,” I said, my voice shaking with rage, “you better hope I don’t. Because it won’t be funny, Jason. I swear it.”
