His eyes widened for a split second, but he quickly masked it. “Feeding…?”
I nodded slowly. “You were unconscious. She was draining your energy, maybe even worse. She was going to… do things to you to gain control over you. And you were too far gone to stop it.”
He didn’t move. Just stood there like a damn statue. Watching me like I was speaking a language he’d never heard. No reaction. No blink. Nothing.
The longer he stared, the colder I felt.
