I stretch awkwardly, grunting as my muscles argue against the uncomfortable ache of my sleeping position. Opening my eyes, I frown at the unfamiliar surroundings that are illuminated by the soft, pale glow of the early morning sun. It takes me a moment to recognise Ryker’s living room; I must have fallen asleep right here on the sofa. What time is it? I pull my arm out from under a heavy blanket that has been carefully placed over me. Despite the warmth of the fabric, it doesn’t stop the sudden chill from seeping in when I realise I’m alone in the room.
