Addison’s POV
As we got to the bottom of the courthouse steps, we heard the sound of gunshots ringing in the air—just a few shots at first, and then several more. I didn’t know how many; I just started running to our vehicle, as did the rest of my family members. Phillip called out to Colton as he rushed me towards the SUV. We knew Colton and his men were armed. We all loaded up quickly into our SUVs and whisked away from the area.
None of us were injured, but as soon as the shooting started, the courthouse went on lockdown. We couldn’t go back. We had to get out of there. The sound of sirens began to fill the air as we left.
