"Then stop listening to rumors." Draven said.
"We have evidence." Varick said.
"Evidence of what?" Draven asked.
"That your Queen carries forbidden blood." Varick said.
The chamber became tense and I remained beside Draven.
Vivienne stood near the back of the room with a carefully concerned expression.
"I only want the kingdom protected." Vivienne said and I looked at her as she smiled faintly.
I knew that expression. She was enjoying this.
Lord Caelen turned toward Draven.
"We should question the Queen." Caelen said.
"You may question her if she chooses to answer. But nobody will treat her as a criminal." Draven said as his voice became colder.
"What if she is responsible for the Silver Gate?" Caelen asked.
