Panic had swallowed Dragonspire. The fortress that usually carried the steady rhythm of servants, soldiers, nobles, and dragons had become a maze of hurried footsteps and whispered questions, because nobody knew where I had gone, and nobody seemed willing to tell Draven that they had lost me.
