I could no longer deny my connection to Ashwing, because every day that passed seemed to strengthen the strange bond between us. I could feel him even when he was nowhere near Dragonspire, and sometimes I would wake during the night with the unmistakable sensation that he was watching over me from somewhere beyond my chambers. The connection frightened me, but it also brought me a strange sense of comfort.
