We're thirty minutes into the action movie I chose. Kyren and Lark teased me for not picking the scary movie, but I ignored them. I was not a fan of scary movies. Never had been. But action and superhero movies have always been my favorite.
Dad and I used to have weekly movie nights at home. Kind of like this, but... well, less. Back then there weren't all these streaming services. We'd rent movies from the local movie store and take them home. Dad would make popcorn on the stove. We'd count change to get slushies from the gas station. And most of the time, we made a fort in the living room with bedsheets.
Sitting here now makes me realize how long it's been since I had a night like that. We still did movie nights after Dad got sick,
