I pulled up to Aiden's house in my beat-up Honda, the engine sputtering like it was on its last legs. It was Friday afternoon, and the city buzzed around me...horns blaring, people hustling on the sidewalks of this urban sprawl.
Aiden and I had been tight since freshman year, bonding over late night gaming sessions and complaining about calculus exams. He invited me for the weekend to crash, said his place was chill, no parents breathing down our necks. His dad had split a year ago, some messy divorce, but Aiden played it cool.
