The bass thumped through the walls of the off-campus house, vibrating up my legs as Anna and I pushed through the crowded front door. It was one of those typical Friday nights in the city...neon lights flickering from the street outside, the air thick with the smell of cheap beer and weed.
I was Jessica, just another sophomore trying to figure out college life, and Anna, my roommate, was the bold one, always dragging me out of our cramped dorm.
