"You're staying with me until you decide to put her out of our house, or it can be like before you got married and you just live with me indefinitely. I do want her out of our house either way."
"I'm going to let her cool down. She always cools down. Then I'm going back."
"Chris, today Vivian told her she wasn't taking any new divorce clients."
I didn't know for certain that was today, but it was as close as I could guess.
Chris had a good, long laugh at that before the implications sunk into his head.
"She called Vivian? To divorce me ?"
I just nodded and struggled to hide, or at the very least, hold back my tears for him.
"Vivian told you that? She doesn't seem like she'd even mention it. She'd just do what she needed to do to plunge a knife into Karen, then be silent about it."
