Mom had to have started this, probably when we were infants. I remember her lightly scratching my back, my entire back, thoroughly, under my pajamas, every night when she tucked me into bed, and have no recollection of when she started.
As I got older, the frequency went from every night to sometimes, to I had to ask her. She hardly ever balked at my request. Then one afternoon, Chris was about eight, I was doing homework in the kitchen and he came in and asked Mom to scratch his back, then I watched in complete shock as he turned around, raised the bottom of his shirt a little, and Mom started scratching his back under his shirt. She hadn't even looked up from the magazine she was reading, like she didn't even need to think about it.
