"I'm glad you find it funny, Lisa. I'm heartbroken over it for you though."
"Mom, I promise, I'm fine. I'm over it...already."
Those words, coming out of her own mouth, felt completely true, yet surprised her.
Lisa somehow felt fine about David, glad even that it was over in spite of very recently crying herself to sleep over it.
She felt like she should expound further on it, to appease her mom and give her dad a feeling of accomplishment. He had never liked David much, or trusted him.
A deep, male voice from the doorway took her mind off that though.
"Is this the damsel in distress's room?"
Everybody, even Bunny, turned to look at the doorway.
