“How’d you find that?” Abby murmured, her voice coming out hoarse and thin, like it had scraped its way up her throat. “I believe I asked first,” Lucas snapped. Abby didn’t answer. There was no version of the truth that didn’t drag Norah into this, and she wasn’t willing to do that. The silence stretched, thick and uncomfortable. Lucas, being Lucas, didn’t need a confession.
