Abby felt exhausted when she finally made it into the office the next morning. She had spent the night tossing and turning, her thoughts tangled with Joe and the looming conversation with her father. Around five, she had given up on sleep altogether and let Marli go for a run before heading to the training center for a workout. She had hoped the physical exertion might calm her nerves, but it had done little more than leave her muscles aching on top of her fatigue. She opened the office door to find Lucas adjusting the monitor on her desk.
