Evan appeared around dinnertime with a paper bag from the cafeteria, the smell of broth drifting out before he even reached her. “Soup.” He plopped it onto the small table beside her. Abby glanced at it and then back at the alpha. “Since I assume you didn’t eat lunch,” he added with a shrug. “I’ll have you know I did,” she shot back. “My friend Norah brought me a sandwich.” Evan pulled the chair beside her and sat. “That was nice of her. But you still need to eat dinner.” She turned to look at him. “Are you always this pushy about food?” The corner of his mouth tipped up. “As a matter of fact, I am.
