“Mira, come back…” my whimpering cry echoed through the forest as I softly slapped her cheeks. Her lifeless body was still lying in front of me, her chest rising and falling in a faint rhythm. I couldn’t feel her thoughts through our mate bond as if she was lost in a dense darkness.
“Nooo….” Defeated against my cursed fate, I slumped on the ground like a rag doll. Kyden’s worn-out body also followed me, struck by this sudden shock.
