Before I could sit up, he was on me. He grabbed my wrists and pinned them above my head, then reached into the drawer beside the bed. He pulled out two long silk scarves — ones I had never seen before. “You ran from me,” he said, voice low and dangerous as he tied my right wrist to the bed frame. “You thought you could escape what you started.” He secured my left wrist to the other side, spreading my arms wide. Then he moved down and tied my ankles to the bottom corners of the bed, leaving me spread-eagled and completely helpless.
