I shoved Marielle away with force. Caught off guard, she fell hard to the ground. I looked at her coldly, my voice low and firm. “You have already used up every bit of expectation I ever had for you. I don’t want to be your daughter anymore. I only have one mother—and that is Seraphine Viremont.” Without hesitation, I turned and walked away. “No—!” Marielle screamed, grabbing hold of me. “No, you’re my daughter. I gave birth to you—you can’t treat me like this!” I turned back to look at her, my eyes filled with nothing but mockery. “Let go,” I said coldly. “I won’t.” She clung on, still struggling. Adrien rushed over and sank his teeth hard into the hand she was using to grab me. With a cry of pain, Marielle instinctively let go, and Adrien immediately pulled me back to parents.
