He froze for a moment, as if the suggestion disgusted him. “Fuck.” He cursed under his breath. “Women are such a hassle.” Frowning, he glanced down at the rope tied around my ankle, then at the filthy, damp corridor. Clearly he had no intention of carrying me. He clicked his tongue and crouched down, roughly tugging at the rope. “Don’t try anything.” He warned viciously while undoing it. “My people are everywhere. You’re not going anywhere.” The rope came loose after a few rough pulls. The moment the pressure around my ankle disappeared, I almost felt strange.
