Beckett’s POV I watch Dominic for a good few moments, my frown deepening before a small hand tugs at my arm. 'Ours looks the best,' Callie announces confidently, as I pull my attention back once more to the little girl beside me and our task. I look down at her to find her studying the whole row of trees with a critical six-year-old's eye. 'Because we have Gerald.' 'Gerald?' I ask. 'The robin,' she says, as though this should be obvious. 'I named him Gerald. He's the best ornament.' 'Gerald's certainly got personality,' Elodie says, smiling. 'Every good tree needs personality,' Callie says solemnly, apparently quoting some rule she's just invented on the spot. 'Fair enough,' I say. 'Does every ornament get a name, or just Gerald?' Callie considers this seriously, tilting her head.
