Damien’s POV
The only thing that concerned me about the trip was leaving Claire without supervision. If I wasn’t there to keep an eye on her, to make sure she stayed in line, I worried what she might get up to.
But, after speaking with Keegan and with several other loyal guards, we developed a schedule for someone loyal to me to always have their eyes on Claire and some of the other council members.
If anyone at any point was plotting against me, I wanted to know as soon as possible. Even if I was in another pack. Maybe especially then.
With that settled, I could instead focus on Amelia and the girls. Even as we packed, the excitement for all three of them was palpable. They all packed their bags as quickly as they could – though Amelia and I had to go behind the girls to actually pack
