Claire’s POV
The morning came far too early. I was still exhausted from a long night, but I wasn’t going to let my body control me. I had lots of plans for Damien’s pack, and they all involved me gaining influence and push the rogues into what I wanted them to do.
Yet, as I stepped out from the small trailer I had been given to stay in, I spotted a strangely familiar figure. Shielding my eyes from the sun, I called out.
“Ethan?”
Ethan turned, saw me, and froze. Yet his surprise only last for a moment before she huffed a breath and shook his head. “I always figured you’d end up here, jail, or dead,” he said. “I guess this is the best of those options.”
“I’m only here temporarily,” I told him.
“Sure,” he replied, clearly not believing me.
