Damien’s POV
I lowered the phone at once. It didn’t matter what else he had to say. All that matter was Amelia was gone and I had to find her. I stood up, ready to run for the exit.
Benedict looked up at me. “Where are you going? Fight 4 is about to start.”
I could hear him now. The crowd had quieted for a moment while the referee gave the rules.
“Jake said Amelia wasn’t at home.”
“So?” Benedict said.
“She could be taken. She could be anywhere.”
“She probably just changed her mind and came to the tournament.”
Would she do that? I tried to think. She had been talking about wanting more independence, and with the questions she had been asking me lately about the tournament, it would make sense if her curiosity won out.
