Damien’s POV
When I arrived at the restaurant we agreed to meet at in Gray’s pack, I parked in a spot along the road. As I got out and approached the front door, I spotted Annette standing there in a gorgeous navy blue cocktail dress. The skirt was short, showing off her long, perfect legs, entrancing me for such a long moment that I had to stand still a moment longer just to look at her.
To appreciate her for a moment, before she could see me.
Too soon, she glanced my way, but her smile made it worth it.
Gods, she was so beautiful, so like Amelia in so many ways. I had to scold my foolish heart to keep it from racing, reminding myself, This isn’t a date. She might not be Amelia. We don’t get to feel this way about her yet.
