A few days after our phone call, Sienna came to the door of the house. Amelia was still in her room. Though she wasn’t confined there, she seemed to refuse to go elsewhere, staging her own form of mini-protest.
She could do as she wanted, hate me as much as she wanted. So long as she was safe, I could carry the weight. Even if it felt like I was losing my sister.
I was sure I would lose her entirely, if she knew what I had been planning – hoping to break the bond between Damien and her. The two were poison together. Even now, when they didn’t know the other was their mate, they still brought about mutually assured destruction.
