The very last thing I wanted to do was train Amelia for battle. For her to be safe, she needed to be as far from the front lines as possible. Yet, as I looked into her eyes and she stared hard up at me, I knew she wasn’t just making an idle threat.
If I didn’t agree to help her, she would try to find someone else to do so. I could try to bar her from doing so by putting out a decree among my warriors, banning them from teaching the Luna. But that was sure to only make Amelia angrier with me, as well as to drive her further into desperation.
If I banned the soldiers from helping her, she would only turn to more dangerous methods, seeking out someone who would disobey me. Her seeking help from those that were not loyal to me could lead to her being hurt or kidnapped.
