I blinked, surprised by the intensity of Damien’s reaction. “I just went to the school…” “You could have called me,” Damien said. “You were working. I wasn’t busy so it wasn’t a problem for me to go.” “You promised me you would stay home.” “Stacy needed me,” I said, entirely confused by this entire exchange. “I took some of the guards with me.
