Amelia’s POV
Later, after the girls returned to school, and Damien to work, I went to the hospital to check on the poisoned child. I didn’t want to cause a scene, I just wanted to make sure the kid was okay and help out however I could.
Immediately upon seeing me, the boy’s mother rushed to me and hugged me. “Thank you so much,” she said. “You saved my son’s life.”
I tried to deny it, even shaking my head, yet before I could say a word, she was insisting.
“You did. You really did.”
“You did,” added one of the nearby nurses. “Everyone knows it. The way you jumped into action. The way you knew just what to do.”
“How did you know, Luna?” the mother asked me. “Your reflexes were so sharp. I could have sworn that you knew what was happening before anyone else.”
