It was very difficult to repress an eye roll. I had to keep reminding myself that Ian was being generous and taking risks in keeping Sienna and me here. Gods, he just complained so much, constantly the victim of everything, that it was difficult to think of him with any level of sympathy or compassion.
At least, it was for me. Sienna watched him with such obvious doe-eyed affection that I was honestly embarrassed for her.
“What kind of event is it?” I asked, when what I really wanted to say was, Why should we care?
“Alpha King Benedict is going to visit Alpha Damien’s pack, and they are holding a banquet in his honor,” Ian explained.
