“Ok,” said Victoria as we parked at the mall. “This is it. Are you ready?”
I rubbed my hand on my stomach, which I dressed very carefully every day to emphasize. I was proud of the work I’d done putting this plan into place, and knew I deserved the attention and bump in status this baby was giving me. Now it was time to snip one last inconvenient little thread.
I smiled. “Oh, I’m ready.”
Amelia POV
Lillian was right about going shopping. I needed time out of the house and actually doing something. Much as I loved and appreciated where I was, not having anything to do but worry about my circumstances was stressful.
Besides, I really did need new clothes. And it was high time I started gathering the supplies I’d need for when the baby came. I didn’t even have a single thing.
