Damien had come lightly armed, unprepared for all out battle. He’d been looking for answers, not to start an all-out war between two powerful packs. Unless he had to. Realizing how quickly the situation could get out of hand, Damien shook himself loose of Jake’s iron grip and decided to back down. For now. He was still determined to bring Amelia back home where she belonged. But her continued silence was loud in his mind, and he didn’t want to try any sort of rescue attempt again until she was ready to really accept his apology. Only then could they actually start to repair their relationship. “Have it your way,” he said to Jake, and his family. “I’m leaving,” he said, raising his voice to Amelia. “But this isn’t over.” Before leaving, he turned to give Jake’s family one final warning
