Plus...shit, we really did have a lot of Calculus homework. I managed to focus on that as I waved good-bye to Coach Perrine and made my way over to my locker after the final bell rang. Trina was already there when I arrived, and I gave her a smile as I bent to get my books and folders sorted.
"How long do you think this Calculus will take?" I asked.
"Two hours at least," she replied, blowing out an annoyed breath.
I nodded and closed my locker. "That's about what I figured," I said. "I hope Nurse Hamilton doesn't mind having us over that long."
We continued talking as we made our way to the front office. Linda gave me a nervous smile from her usual post behind that front counter. I gave her a sad smile.
"How was your day, Linda?" I asked.
