When I finally got home after my long night with Nurse Hamilton, my mother had already gone to bed. My dad was headed that way, but I stopped him long enough to ask if I could invite Nurse Hamilton over for dinner with us the following evening.
"Sure, that sounds fine," he said. He c****d his head and looked at me. "You seem much more relaxed tonight."
"Yes sir," I replied, "Talking with that woman made me see a lot of things much more clearly."
I stepped in and hugged my dad fiercely. After a second, he hugged me back.
"Dad, I love you so much," I said, "I cannot begin to tell you how much I appreciate everything you have done for me. The more I talked with Nurse Hamilton, and the more she helped me see things clearly, the more I understood just how lucky I am that you are my dad."
