"Hey," Patricia said. She sounded out of breath. "I just have a couple of minutes before my next class. What's up?"
A couple of minutes wasn't enough time for the conversation I needed to have with her. "I wanted to talk with you about my mom, and her apartment. It's a little complicated. And of course I wanted to see you again. Are you busy this evening?"
"Unfortunately I am busy," she said. She sounded unhappy. "I would have to see you pretty late, like after ten?"
Kyle would be back by then, but I didn't care. "Sure," I said. "Just give me a call then."
"Sounds good!" she said. "Got to run, I'll talk to you later. Bye!"
