42. The Consequence is Gone

When I close the door to my room, I go in search of my children in the bedroom. They are engrossed in something on my laptop. I approach them with regret. I never expected Katty to come and make such a scene.
"Kids... I'm very sorry you had to witness something like that, but I promise it won't happen again." They look very serious and disappointed. I'm sure that when they tell Amelia, she won't let me see them again.
"Daddy, is she the girlfriend you're going to marry? Is she the woman you left mom for?" I stare at their little faces with shame. Lily's questions echo in my head. Did I really dare to leave Amelia for Katty? What the hell was I thinking?
