51. Breakups Juan Luis The sound of a monitor wakes me up, and when I open my eyes, I try to identify where I am. Once everything becomes clear, I realize I'm in a hospital room. My hand is connected to an IV drip. My head hurts a bit, but it's tolerable. The door opens, and I see a nurse enter. My throat feels dry, but I make an effort to speak. "Miss," I manage to say. The nurse lifts her head and looks at me. She approaches the head of the bed and presses a button. "Good evening, sir. The doctor will be here shortly to check on you," she says before leaving.
