53. Unexpected Help

I was certain that at some point, they would use the evidence they had against me to try to harm me, but I still don't understand why it took so long. Months have passed since the day of the accident, and according to the reports I've received, Katty is not at risk. She's planning something with her parents, and it wouldn't surprise me if my mother were supporting them. I let out a deep sigh of exhaustion. By now, my Amelia has left. I couldn't say goodbye to her or tell her that I'll be waiting for her return. Now, an ocean separates us.
The agents lead me to the station, where I'm placed in a holding cell. I need to call my lawyer to see if I can get out on bail.
The hours feel eternal in this place. The dead time only makes me reflect more on my life. M
