I took the agreement from Sebastian and read my mother's name. She had been listed as someone who should receive the completed investigation report. I checked the date, then looked at the signatures beneath it. The agreement had been prepared years after she left Wolfe.
"Why would they put my mother on this?"
Nathan moved closer to examine the document.
"There's a separate authorization attached."
Sebastian turned the page.
"Who signed it?"
Nathan pointed to the bottom.
"Alexander."
I read the authorization myself. Our father had approved Claire as an independent recipient of the report, although it didn't explain why he'd chosen her. Her address wasn't listed, only a reference number. I wondered whether Alexander had finally learned that Marcus had lied about her leaving
