NARRATIVE POV Sparrow watched with glowing eyes from above. He knew his tiny mate wasn’t safe within the log she hid in, but he had to wait. The cat was locked onto her, and he needed to be smart about how he approached this. He would never risk endangering his mate, not even for a moment. What he didn’t calculate as he stealthily worked his way closer to the predator hunting his terrified mate was her rushing out of the log and running. Shit! He hissed within. Cats loved the chase, and his mate had just given that to this rabid beast. Sparrow watched as the spotted cat's eyes lit up with hungry excitement.
