TIA POV
After Meadow finished lapping the blood off her snout satisfactorily, we trotted back to the bush, hid behind it, and watched as the rogues realized they were no longer under attack. Johnny was slightly disoriented by the severity of the beating he had received from the warriors. They seemed mostly focused on him over his companion, Dave, as he was the more dominant of the two.
“What happened?” Johnny asked groggily, but Dave shrugged.
“It happened too fast to be certain, but I think another rogue wolf saved us. We should go, Johnny.” Dave was still on the edge of his panic. “Before Delta Price sends more after us.”
“Agreed. Let’s go, Dave.” Johnny stumbles as he pushes to his feet. I instinctively rush out to help, but thankfully, I catch myself before I do.
