"Ack—cough—COUGH! "
Heidi choked on water, sputtering like she'd inhaled a hurricane.
Mascara-streaked droplets streamed from her ruined updo, soaking her designer dress and carving dark lines down the silk.
Her eyes finally locked on me. They were wide, furious, and filled with disbelief.
"Allison, you've lost your MIND! " she gasped between coughs. "You actually...cough...DARED to drench me! "
I smiled—frosty and deliberate.
