“Don’t fight it,” he murmured, his voice a sickening mix of soothing and commanding. “You’ll only make it worse for yourself, little luna. And I want to enjoy you for a long time.” His hand brushed against her cheek, and she shuddered, her skin crawling at the contact. Tears pricked at the corners of her eyes, but she blinked them back, refusing to give him the satisfaction of seeing her cry. She would not break. She had to hold on, had to stay strong, no matter how hopeless it seemed. But as the first Lycan leaned in closer, his hand sliding down to grip her chin and force her to look at him, Lora felt the last remnants of her strength beginning to slip away.
