  CHAPTER 99: FACING THE PACK COUNCIL   AMANDA'S POV:   As the door of the SUV slammed shut, the sound echoed like a gavel in a courtroom. The guards didn't say a word to me; they just stared straight ahead with faces made of granite. In a matter of minutes, the familiar, grand silhouette of the pack house loomed over us. Growing up, this place felt like home, but today, it felt like a mausoleum.   They led me through the high-arched hallways, our footsteps sounding too loud on the marble floor.
