  CHAPTER 36: WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE?   AMANDA'S POV:   The bus ride to school felt like it took forever. Every bump in the road made my stomach do a little flip, but I wasn't sick—I was hopeful. I held my bag tight, thinking about the grocery bag and the envelope hidden on top of my wardrobe. Maybe today was the day the nightmare finally ended.   I walked into my first period just as the bell rang. I could feel it the second I sat down. It was like a heat lamp was aimed right at the back of my neck.
