Layla’s POV “Report to the commander’s office,” a voice cuts through my flimsy door as a fist pounds. Sighing, I open my eyes and stare at the ceiling. They came back from morning patrol quicker than I thought they would… but with Alexander leading, I shouldn’t be too surprised. I push myself up with a hiss, clutching the edge of the bed until the ache in my ribs subsides. There’s no time to rest, apparently, or recover from the assault earlier. No time to think about the pain, either, as I stand up and make my way out of my cabin. The pain is too present and worrying to ignore, but I push through. I just need to make it through the rest of today, and once I get to Vincent, I can find a doctor. Until then, I can only hope everything is alright. Alexander is already in the comman
