The next morning, I was sleeping really well when the sound of my phone going off woke me up. Since I was on one side of the bed, I rolled over and grabbed it. When I saw that it was the hospital, I stood up and went to the bathroom to answer it.
"Hello, this is Dr Landry," I said on a yawn. "Dr Landry, this is head nurse Maria. I'm sorry to bother you, but we have a bit of a situation here at the hospital and need extra help. There was a nine-car pile-up on the interstate. We have every surgeon who is working tonight in surgery, and we need extra hands. We have a few others that need to go to surgery asap. I called you first, and I have a few others to get ahold of as well. Is there any way that you can come in to help us?" she asked me.
