My eyes burned faintly when I opened them. For a second, I stayed still beneath the blanket, staring blankly at the unfamiliar ceiling while sleep clung heavily to my body. Then the curtains moved. “Aurelia.” Mia’s voice reached me carefully from somewhere near the windows. I blinked slowly before turning my head toward her. Soft morning light spilled across the suite, bright enough to make me realize immediately— Shit. I pushed myself up quickly. “What time is it?” Mia lowered the tablet in her hands slightly. “You overslept.” That alone already irritated me. I never overslept. Never.
