The car came to a stop, and the door was opened before I reached for it. “Welcome home, ma’am,” the housekeeper said with a slight bow. “Dinner is ready.” The warmth hit me the moment I stepped inside. Soft lighting. Familiar silence. The faint smell of food drifting from the dining area. Ford adjusted Leo carefully in his arms as we walked in. “He’s far gone,” Pierce muttered. “Obviously,” Ford replied. I slipped off my heels near the entrance, my feet finally touching the cool floor as I followed them inside. Dinner was already set. We went straight to the dining table. Ford sat first, shifting Leo slightly so he rested more comfortably against him, still completely asleep.
